Fringe (not fridge) benefits
When I think of what OA has given me beyond a healthy relationship with food, there is so much. One of the most important “fringe” benefits for me is being a sponsor. Of course there are challenges, but most things that are worth doing have challenges, so I have learned not to be put off by that. Another “fringe” benefit is that I have learned that it is ok to make mistakes. So, put those two together, and I have learned that I don’t have to be a perfect sponsor. In fact, probably there is no such thing as a perfect sponsor! So… I don’t have to have all the answers; it’s ok if being a sponsor is sometimes challenging, and it’s ok if I don’t always feel good when I take a call. I can show up “as I am” when I sponsor, and that is good enough.
